2002 Bizarre Awards
06/12/02
MOVE over Big Brother, Pop Idol and
Popstars: The Rivals.
It's time for the
hardest-fought competition of them all - Bizarre's end of year poll.
After 12 months of
showbiz parties, romances and chart battles, here's your chance to vote for the
winners - and losers - of the year.
How about the No1 of
2002? Pop Idol WILL YOUNG's debut single Evergreen/Anything Is Possible is one
of the biggest-selling tracks of the year - but is it your favourite?
He will be fighting it
out with JXL's cover of ELVIS PRESLEY's A Little Less Conversation which stayed
at No1 for four weeks.
Nominations for Best
Album could include Heathen Chemistry by OASIS, A Rush Of Blood To The Head
from COLDPLAY or Escapology, the new release from ROBBIE WILLIAMS.
There is a long list of
candidates for Best Newcomer, including those Pop Idol rivals GARETH GATES and
DARIUS DANESH.
But you don't just get
the chance to vote for the winners. There have been some horrible fashion
clangers in 2002.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA,
HOLLY VALANCE and BRITNEY SPEARS have all won my Dom's Dog's Dinner awards. Who
do you think was the worst of the lot?
You can also vote for
your favourite radio and club DJ, Best Female Singer and Best Male Singer.
And it's not all about
the music charts. Who gets your vote for Reality TV star of the year -how about
Big Brother's JADE GOODY or whatshisname from BBC1's Shame Academy?
The Best TV Show surely
has to be a straight fight between 24 and THE OFFICE - unless you think
differently.
And which celeb do you
reckon is the sexiest? How about JENNIFER LOPEZ for the fellas and ROBBIE
WILLIAMS for the girls?
JAMIROQUAI's JAY KAY
must be favourite for Scrapper Of The Year after his fisticuffs at the Brits.
But SO SOLID CREW and
WESTLIFE's BRYAN McFADDEN could be in with a shout.
Jay Kay might crop up
again when you are considering the Plonker Of The Year gong.
And don't forget my
favourite award, Shagger Of The Year. SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON perhaps?
In the words of Big
Brother... you decide.
