Brita Awards Fever!
This year's Brit Award nominations launch
will feature performances from Moby, Ms Dynamite and Big Brovaz and will be
held at the famous Abbey Road Studios.
As previously announced on dotmusic, the Outstanding Contribution to Music
Award for 2003 will go to Tom Jones who follows in the footsteps of Sting, U2,
David Bowie, Eurythmics and others.
The launch ceremony will be broadcast live on Monday, January 13 on ITV2,
presented by Kate Thornton.
Nominations in fourteen categories will be announced including Best Group, Best
British Album, Best British Male/Female and a host of others voted by the
public, including Best Pop Act, Best British Single and Best British
Breakthrough.
Other categories are selected by the Brits Academy, made up of over 1000
members from different sectors of the music industry, and by independent record
companies, retailers, press, TV and radio producers, music publishers, artist
managers, concert promoters and venues, NUS representatives, DJs and past Brit
Award winners.
The Brit Awards takes place on Thursday, February 20 and will be broadcast
live on ITV.
