Will Young is odds on favourite to top the UK singles chart this week despite the release of the official World Cup anthem, dotmusic can report.

The Pop Idol victor, who topped the charts with his record breaking debut single and has covered The Doors classic 'Light My Fire', is on his way to his second career No.1.

Last week's No.1 star Eminem faced a stiff challenge to hold on to the top spot with such high profile releases. In an ironic twist, Young should defeat Pop Idol presenters Ant & Dec in the race for No.1.

The new chart looks set to feature new entries from Sex Pistols, DJ Otzi and Ozzy Osbourne but imprisoned So Solid MC Asher D faces a struggle to stay in the Top 40 after a poor performance so far.
