tiring of TV talent shows, says Nicki Chapman
Pop Idol judge Nicki Chapman has admitted
viewers are tiring of the reality TV format.
She says there are no plans to make a sequel
of the show, which launched the careers of Gareth Gates and Will Young.
Her comments follow a significant fall in
record sales and ratings for the latest talent show Popstars: The Rivals.
Nicki, who looks after several of the stars
through her 19 management company, told Now magazine she will concentrate on
reworking the reality TV format instead.
She is planning on a remake of the Monkees
and Last Chance Idol, in which one-hit wonders get the chance to make a
comeback.
