As previously announced Will and Gareth will
release the duet The Long and Winding Road/ Suspicious Minds on 23rd Sept.
Fresh from their record breaking solo
releases, the UK's brightest young solo artists have joined forces to record a
track together which will be released as part of a Double A side on September
23rd.
In celebration of the phenomenal year that both artists have had and due to the massive public response to their rendition of The Beatles hit, "The Long and Winding Road" on ITV¹s Pop Idol, this release is sure to be one of this years most eagerly anticipated hits.
Penned by Paul Mc Cartney and John Lennon in
1970, The Long and Winding Road was The Beatles last US release and their 20th
No 1 hit but was never released as a single in the UK. Now, Will and Gareth
will introduce their own version of this classic track to a new generation of
fans with a unique video shot in just ONE take with a completely live vocal!
"It is a real honour to cover a Beatles
track I have always been a big fan of theirs. After the brilliant response we
got to it on the show and as a thank you to all our fans, we felt it would be a
great track to celebrate a great year. After this, both Gareth and I will move
on and take the different routes of music we both wish to follow." says
Will.
The track will be a Double A side, featuring
Gareth on Suspicious Minds, the soundtrack for the forthcoming Disney animation
Lilo and Stitch.
Will added; "Although I was invited to
join Gareth to duet on Suspicious Minds, I was uncomfortable with the track and
suggested he did it solo as it suits his voice well. It sounds fantastic and I
hope both tracks go down equally well."
Will's rendition of "I Get The Sweetest
Feeling" will feature as an additional track on the single.
