Will has no say (MRIB)
It has been revealed that the deal Will Young has signed
with 19 Management's Simon Fuller means he'll have no say whatsoever about the kind
of songs he'll sing in the future. According to reports, Will won't be allowed
to choose any tunes, must ask Fuller's permission in writing if he wants
expenses on promotional tours and is also slated to pay for the upkeep of his
own website, www.wyoung.co.uk.
Nevertheless, the 23-year-old won't find himself out of
pocket just yet, as he's expected to receive £620,000 in royalties from the
sales of 1.4million copies of his debut single.
For his part, Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell is confident
that Will won't be a one-hit wonder and recently opined, "He's more
talented than a lot of artists out there, has an original voice and lots of
guts. And his next single [a cover of Light My Fire] will be huge."
